Your Violin Lessons
- Lessons are 30 minutes to an hour
- Pricing:
- 30 min = $20
- 45 min = $30
- 60 min = $40
- I teach in my private studio in Bloomingdale, IL
- Students must bring their own violin, bow, shoulder rest (recommended), sheet music and smile
Teaching Style
While there are many methodologies available today, my lesson structure is simple and straight forward:
- No two students are alike
- I evaluate each student as we work through their lessons, selecting technical studies to correct and improve form and technique
- Scales are practiced to learn intonation
- "Solos" are selected based on skill level and musical taste (beginners will play Suzuki pieces that teach skills in a progressive manner; however, once basic skills are mastered, students have input in their reportoire)
- Laughter and fun are required during all lessons!
I practice what I preach by playing in local orchestras, a Christian worship and praise band, at weddings and even in an occasional pit orchestra for a musical. Check out this Live Concert video of Mountain Spring - a piece made famous by the group Barrage.
