As a child, I began studying violin under the tutelage of Donna Schaff and Edward Fiorelli at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I continued my musical education, serving as concertmaster for seven consecutive semesters while attending Northern Illinois University. After College, I played several seasons with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra.
I began teaching violin in February 2001 when I joined the teaching staff at K. R. Bachelder, located in Naperville, IL. In 2008 I decided to open a home teaching studio in Bloomingdale where I continue to teach as a member of the American String Teacher Association (ASTA).
I expanded my professional music career in 2006 when my friend and I co-founded "Classical Aisles Violin Duets" - a violin duo that provided heartfelt music for weddings and other special events through 2016. I am now a solo artist - focusing on electric violin performances at receptions and events.
My orchestra affiliations include the Salt Creek Sinfonietta, West Suburban Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonetta Bel Canto, and the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra where I served as Principal, 2nd violin from 2007 - 2010. To share my love of music with the next generation, I served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the West Suburban Youth Orchestra. I also play fiddle in the contemporary Christian band “For the Cross”. (You can view our band in most of the Worship Service videos from The Gathering For Christ )
While there are many methodologies available today, my lesson structure is simple and straight forward:
I practice what I preach by playing in local orchestras, a Christian worship and praise band, at weddings and even in an occasional pit orchestra for a musical. Check out this Live Concert video of Mountain Spring - a piece made famous by the group Barrage.
